Well, it's that time of year again. Many people are either wanting to rid
themselves of those extra gained pounds that are accumulating during
the holidays, or they are ready to make another New Year's resolution
to get on that diet that they have been attempting to make work for the
past several years.
The evidence is still around that exercise is helpful to increase and
stimulate weight gain, and to help maintain long-term weight loss.
According to the Journal of Nutrition, John M. Jacocic states that:
"it appears that exercise needs to be moderate to vigorous in intensity to significantly affect body weight. Moreover, it appears that improvements in fitness are associated with reductions in risk of weight gain. Physical activity also is associated with improved maintenance of weight loss."
It has also been shown that exercise, although extremely helpful, is not absolutely
