One of the newest "Psych" disorders is called Orthorexia Nervosa.
This is an eating disorder characterized by the "Obsession" with
eating healthy foods. If you want to eat foods without msg, chemical
additives, or foods that are natural, then you are probably suffering
from Orthorexia.
This is actually not that new. This was a condition that was born
in 1997 by a California (Go figure) psychiatrist Dr. Steven Bratman.
As Dr. Bratman states, it is characterized by "a fixation on righteous
eating".
I guess I am not sure how to react or respond to this silliness.
If going out of one's way to make sure they stay healthy is
a mental disease, then I am REALLY NUTS! I also go out of
my way to exercise on a regular basis. I wonder what the
good doctor's diagnosis of that might be?
I would really like to hear a comment or two from someone
as to how you might feel about this.

Sleep Yourself Thin!
There have been studies that have shown a link between
getting enough sleep and losing weight.
If you are not getting enough sleep (7-8 hours), and you
are trying to shed pounds without success, then you may
want to try getting a little more sleep.
Those individuals with more sleep had more of a hormone
called "Leptin" which helps to regulate hunger. While just
sleeping is not going to actually put you at your ideal weight,
keeping up with your healthy routine AND getting a good
night's rest, may certainly help to keep your body regulated
and help in your weight loss efforts.
Bob
P.S. There is also a MENTAL side to losing weight.

Kids & Pets
Just an update on your pet's health.
In spite of all of the news about pets (and young children) being
left in cars during the summer months, I am still hearing a lot of
news about people still leaving their pets (and kids) in the car
while the parent(s) go in for "Just a minute".
Even with the windows rolled down a couple of inches, it can
still reach 120 degrees (or hotter) inside of a car.
If you are not willing to take your pet or child with you
when you get out of the car, then either leave them at
home, or don't go in to shop (or whatever). Okay, I'm done!
Have a safe summer.

Summer Ready?
It is now warm (hot in many places) and the sun is out
helping everyone's gardens.
Now is the time to take advantage of being able to walk
and enjoy the out-of-doors. Lots of calories to burn to help
you get into swimsuit shape.
Walk your dog instead of just letting it run outside.

More nuts
In my last blog I mentioned that eating nuts can
lower cholesterol.
What I failed to mention is that nuts are quite high
in fat content, so you do not want to eat too many.
Nuts are a great source of protein and are a very
healthy food - in moderation. So, make sure that
you keep your diet balanced with fruits and veggies.
Now is a great time of year to eat them. Local
markets usually have locally grown produce which
tends to be superior in flavor and nutrition to
that bought at your local supermarket.
You might also find a wider variety of things
from which to choose.

Nuts lower cholesterol
An interesting study from Loyola University study
has shown that eating small amount on nuts each day can lower
a person's cholesterol.
This was a review of 25 studies involving over 600 people.
The approximate daily amount was 67g (the equivalent of a
small bag of nuts). The sudy showed that cholesterol reduction
was about 7.4% over anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks.
Not only did the nuts reduce cholesterol, but triglicerides
were also decreased. Sounds like a winner.
So, the next time someone says "Nuts to you", just smile
and thank them.

The time is NOW!
Don't delay. NOW is the time to get yourself more healthy.
Science has not yet found any other healthy way for you
to lose weight and keep your health. Sure, there are pills,
there is surgery, and there are a million and one diets out
there (some are actually good!), but it still boils down to
working a little harder, and having some self-discipline.
Following a healthier diet is not much more difficult than
eating a diet that is nutritionally bankrupt. The major problem
is that for many people, giving up a few donuts, potato chips,
fatty meats, and the ever popular sodas (even the ones that
are supposedly 1 calorie, is out of the question. More often
than not I hear "Oh, I just couldn't do that!"
All it takes to get healthier is to start eating more balanced meals,
pay a modicum of attention to what we eat, and get a moderate
amount of exercise. It does take a little self-discipline, but living
a healthier lifestyle can be done and is not that hard to do.
The most common reason for failure at anything,
is that a person gives up. Do not let giving up
be a part of YOUR plan.

MOWING DOWN THE CALORIES!
If you are at all like I am, and find yourself out
with the lawnmower, then you know that getting
outside in the fresh air and sunshine is usually
pretty nice.
If you are also trying to lose a few pounds, you
may be interested to know that you can burn
off a significant number of calories just by pushing
that lawnmower around your yard for a while.
If you have enough yard that you can mow for
an hour, you will burn around 200 or so calories.
That's not bad for getting out in the sunshine.
Just make sure that if you are out in the sun, and
it is hot (even if it isn't) that you have water handy
to keep yourself from getting dehydrated.
Enjoy the summer time.

"Weighty" Costs
Did you know that obesity in the U.S. is approaching 40% for adults?
This trend toward gaining weight seems to continue its uphill swing.
Have you ever considered what it costs to be overweight?
There are direct and indirect costs. Direct costs may include
such things as diagnostics and direct treatment.
Indirect costs relate more the the cost of morbidity (severity) of disease.
Health care costs associated with obesity are close to 100 billion dollars!
That's a lot of unnecessary financial fat. It really doesn't take that much
to lose some weight. It is also easier for some than for others.
The reason why more people do not want to get and stay on programs
is that it is easier not to.
I never had to lose hundreds of pounds, but I did choose to lose over 40.
That was over 37 years ago. I have kept it ALL off to this day.
The only way to begin to lose weight - is to begin!
Start slowly and do a little more as you go. It takes years
to get way overweight. No one ever said you had to lose
100 pounds (or even 40) in a few weeks.

The Good Egg - White or Brown?
There has been some discussion about whether or not brown eggs
are better than white eggs. It seems that it just depends upon
what kind of hen is doing the laying.
Here is the link to an article that discusses white vs. brown.
One other thing that I will mention, that is NOT mentioned
in the article, is that free range eggs can be better than
the others. Not all free-range egg hens actually see the light
of day. Just because a hen is fed from an organic feed, does
not mean it is free-range, just that the eggs can be considered
organic.
If the hens are able to eat bugs and some of the seed from
growing flowers and such, then these are truly free-range
hens. Their eggs will be higher in Omega-3 and other
healthy nutrients.
Here's the link.
Enjoy,

Sleepless in?
WOW! I never thought that this would work this well.
If you have trouble sleeping, or are just a "Tosser and
Turner", then do I have a help for you.
This is the second year that we have grown Chamomile.
It is now flowering and we have made tea with the
inner yellow bud. The flower petals should be pulled
off and discarded.
This is the second time in a week that I have had the tea
from the fresh flowers. It is almost like being drugged.
At first I wake up a bit groggy, but as soon as you get
up, you wake up. It is really cool. My brain also seems
to be recharged. I seem to be able to think more clearly.
This is the general consensus of everyone with whom
I have shared the chamomile tea.
I have tried the Chamomile tea out of the box that you
buy at the supermarket, and it does nothing. I also do
not like the way it tastes. Fresh Chamomile works!
It is much, much better, and it really helps with getting
to sleep and staying asleep throughout the night.
At least this is how it works for my family and friends.
It is really easy to grow, and the seeds are inexpensive
and can be bought almost anywhere. Try it.

Which Burns More Calories?
I was recently doing some research when I came across
this really interesting fact.
There are a lot of ways to burn calories. Almost anything that
a person does will burn some calories. It all depends upon
how long and how hard you do the activity.
The interesting thing that I noticed was that if you walk at
a fairly easy pace (about 3.5 mph) for one hour, you actually
will burn as many calories (or more) than someone who
lifts weights doing a general light workout will in the same
amount of time.
Now, I am an advocate of weight lifting (not necessarily
body building), because it helps to tone and strengthen
the muscles and also increases a person's ability to burn
calories more efficiently. But, the next time someone
tells you that lifting weights is the only way to go, tell
them that walking is just as efficient at burning calories.

Yard Work Calories
Do you like to garden? Do you grow tomatoes or herbs outside?
If you have the space, and like to plant flowers, do light
landscaping, or pull weeds in your vegetable garden,
then you can burn off extra calories.
It doesn't take much to spend an hour or two in
the garden staking up beans or pulling the weeds
away from your pepper plants.
It is also really nice to be out-of-doors at this time
of the year as the weather is still cool and the
bugs (especially the mosquitoes) are at a minimum.
If you spend two hours of light yard work such as
gardening, mowing the lawn, or planting some
new flowers, you can burn off about 330 calories.
Nice! Especially for something that you really
enjoy doing. Have fun and keep "Burning" -
those calories, that is.

Workout Weather
The weather is GREAT this time of year.
I am just loving this weather. It is getting warmer,
not too many insects out yet, and the sun is shining
and it is getting nice and warm.
This is wonderful weather to do things out of doors.
I have been repairing and setting out the garden.
I have also been mowing. I like to mow with a push
mower as it gives me more exercise (almost 3 acres)
pushing up and down hills.
I also like to get outside and run. Enjoying the
sunshine and warm weather sure beats being
inside on a treadmill for walking or running.
Get outside, get a little sun. It's good for you.

Overweight Children
I was walking through the grocery store the other day and, once again,
I saw a 15-20 kids with their parents out shopping. At least 5 of these
kids were very, very overweight. I would really call them obese.
These are young children who are only 5 or 6 years old. A couple
more that were under 12. The CDC (Center for Disease Control)
states that 1 of 7 children ages 6 - 11 are not just
overweight, but obese. There is some correlation to income, but
it is small.
Every time that I see a very young child who is very overweight, all
that I always wonder WHY? How can any parent let their child
gain that much weight? I then look at the parents and, in most cases,
one of both of the parents are also extremely overweight. The parents
do not realize that they are setting an example, and not one that the
child should be imitating.
If the parent is asked about their child's weight, I am sure that
most parents will shake their head and say "I just don't know what
to do!" I know what they can do. I taught gymnastics and had
one very overweight young 5 year old. She was unable to just
hang from a bar. The I overheard the father tell her that as a
reward for trying hard he would get her an ice cream cone
when her class was over. I set him straight very quickly.
Amazingly, he really thought he was doing the right thing.
When I am asked what to do, harsh as this may sound, I
sometimes simply tell them to MAKE AN EFFORT, and use some
common sense. Let your child know that your being overweight is not
how he or she should be, and that just because you eat an
entire bag of potato chips at a sitting, that it in not okay for your child.
I could go on for a while, but I would really like to hear some other
thoughts on this. I am not blaming, but more just wondering
why parents do not take more of an interest.
Until next time, go for a walk - and take your children.
If you have a weight problem, let me give you some free
information that will really help you. If you look at the

Stretch OUT Those Calories
We have all heard that we should do some
stretching before we run or do other heavy
types of exercise. Stretching is important
for those reasons and more.
When you stretch you also help to align
your spine, reduce stress on your
joints, increase blood flow, and you also
burn off calories.
You can burn over 200 calories through
stretching if you stretch for an hour.
Most people would not know where to
begin, but Yoga is a great example of
stretching that can not only reduce stress,
but there are so many types of stretches
offered that you can stay busy for hours
trying to incorporate and learn all of
the various stretches.
As a former gymnast, I have many stretching
exercises at my disposal. Yoga is really a
great extension to what I already use.
Try stretching out, you just might get "Hooked".

Getting Ready for Summer?
Summer is almost here. Are you getting your body ready? Now is the
time to begin getting rid of those pounds (If you have not already started).
Since summer brings with it warm weather and thoughts of
being out-of-doors, it only stands to reason that outside is
where you should start spending some time.
Start going on walks. That will burn away some calories.
Don't hire someone to mow your yard - do it yourself.
Mowing is great exercise. I mow my yard and do not
use the self-propel feature. I get more exercise just
pushing. I mow over 2 acres with a push mower.
Now, if you have a dog, get out there with a frisbee
or a ball and do some serious playing with your
friend. Your dog will love you all the more for it.
As always, watch out for what you eat.

Thinking Thin!
Have you ever wondered where all of the extra
pounds that have been added to your body have come
from? You may or may not be surprised at how many
"unconscious" calories that you consume. Each time
to take a drink of soda, tea, lemonade, or whatever your
drink of choice might be, you are taking in more calories.
The exception is, of course, water. We tend to do a lot of
eating out of habit.
Do you find yourself eating a potato chip now and then?
How many do you eat at a sitting? How about cookies? cake?
crackers? Do you take extra helpings at lunch and/or dinner?
If so, how big of an extra helping do you take?
All of these eating habits require that we stay conscious of
what (and how) we are eating. Even putting extra butter into our
skillet to fry up our lunch can add a few more calories. All of
these calories add up to extra pounds that we did not expect
to have added to our frame. Adding calories to our food and
into our bodies is way too easy. Getting rid of the extra
calories seems way too hard.
So, "Think and Grow Thin". Think about
how you eat and pay attention to what
you put into your mouth.

Don't Forget!
Don't forget to pay attention!
Eating correctly to lose weight is not just a simple
matter of going on a diet. How often do people go
on diets and simply ignore (or forget) just what
the diet says that they should or should not be eating?
Diets are fine if they fit you and you are willing
to follow the protocol. If you decide that you are
going to change the diet, then make sure they are
sensible changes. If the diet states that you should
be giving up sugar, then do not change it to mean
that you can have a doughnut in the morning and
a candy bar for a snack.
If you need something with sugar, try a peach, a banana,
or strawberries for sweetening power. Diets can be changed,
but they must be realistic and healthy.
Don't forget to be sensible. Pay attention to
what you are putting into your body.
Help yourself to create that weight loss mindset.

Coffee Helps Hepatitis Sufferers
According to the American Cancer Institute,
consumption of coffee helps prevent further progression
of the hepatitis C virus.
If you drink at least 2-3 cups a day, it has been
shown to slow or stop the progression
of this virus. Black and green teas did not
show any improvement.

Eating Control!
Do you have trouble controlling what you eat?
Here are 3 important things that you can do to lower the
amounts of food that you eat and reduce the calories.
1. Eat more slowly
If you eat more slowly, your hunger
center will register being full or satiated more quickly.
Many people rush through their meals. Take it slowly,
you will enjoy your food more, and you will realize that
you really do not want to eat all of that food.
2. Don't stuff yourself at each meal
This is a major problem for many. Instead of
eating until you feel comfortable, you eat
until you feel as if you will burst. This may
take practice, but it is worth it. Following the
first suggestion will help with this.
3. Wait! Do not run off and get more food
when you finish eating. Wait for 15 minutes.
This will give the food a chance to "settle" in.
Then you can decide if you really want more
food. Make sure that if you want more it is
not because you are bored. Eat because you
are hungry! Again, this boils down to NOT
shoveling in the food. Take Your Time!

Ounces of Weight - Prevention
If you have lost weight (or are trying to),
The CDC notes three (3) main things that you should do
to help keep yourself from gaining back any more weight.
1. Choose an Eating Plan
Eating correctly, and eating the right foods are known to
be of major importance in controlling weight.
There are a lot of things out there, some better than others.
Make sure that the foods that you eat give you sound nutrition
and do not fall into the "Fad" category. Eat those veggies
and some fruits. Pay attention to your fat intake.
Learn how to prepare your foods in a healthy and tasty way.
Try this cook book designed specifically for
weight control - Click Here.
2. Move More
We all know that getting more exercise is going to
burn off more calories and will help us to lose and
control our weight. Don't make excuses to sit down.
Look for ways that you can do more physical things.
3. Self-Monitor
We need to pay attention to what we eat, drink, and
how much physical activity we get. It is important
to know what we are doing and how. Most of us know
if we are eating the wrong things, and if we get very
much (if any) exercise. Keep a daily journal if
you need to do so. Just a daily note is all that you
need to do. It does not need to be a major thing that
takes up a lot of your time.

Cooking, Weight Loss, and Nutrition
I try not to do too much cooking lest' the "Kitchen Devil" tempt
me to eat more and more of what I cook. This does not mean
that I don't like to cook, or don't cook. What it means is that
when I cook, I try to make it count.
It is important to prepare healthy foods that give us nutrition
rather than empty calories. There is a cookbook
that is designed to do just that. I checked it out and I was
really surprised at the level of expertise that it provides.
It has great recipes and nutritionally sound advice.
I highly recommend that you check out this book.
1. If you are having trouble losing weight
2. If your weight stays the same and refuses to go down
3. If you want some healthy cooking pointers
This is information is really something that you will want to look at.

Get To The Core
Most of us are pretty okay with the fact that toning
our muscles also helps us to stay healthier. It seems that
health and fitness are two things that just go together.
I suppose that most of us have heard of the "CORE".
Fitness trainers and health professionals seem to
talk about how important building up our core
muscles. Keeping muscles toned is an important
part of losing weight.
One of the things that you are not told is that most
your stabilizer muscles make up part of that core group.
Many of these muscles (stabilizer) are smaller and
we do not use them as much.
Two quick core exercises are:
1. Just hold yourself on your elbows or in a push-up
position for a minute or two.
2. Invert that position so that your stomach faces up
and your arms are behind you on hands or elbows.
Try to keep your stomach pushing up so that your back is straight.
I have recently come across a new fitness product that just
about beats anything that I have seen on the market yet. If you
are looking for a piece of equipment that really, I mean REALLY
develops your core and stabilizer muscles, then you HAVE GOT
TO CHECK THIS OUT! Here is the link.

fitness fast!
Nobody wants to wait for anything anymore.
Patience is a thing of the past. We now have microwaves,
fast food, fast cars, fast money, and fast-talking.
Fitness is one of those things that can be improved very
quickly. In just a few weeks a person can lose weight, increase
his/her metabolic rate, and improve how they feel.
In a few months, it is possible to lower cholesterol, eliminate
diabetic medication, and look and feel a lot better.
On the other hand, if you simply eat and watch television,
then the opposite usually occurs.
Watch your diet, eat as healthy as you can, and try to
get in at least 15 to 30 minutes of moderate exercise a day.
If your trying to lose weight find out how to set
appropriate goals. Get "Nothing Can Stop Me"
at the upper-right of this page.

Make a Change
Can we really change our habits?
A close friend of mine had major heart surgery a few
years ago. He swore up and down that he would quit smoking,
eat healthier, and start exercising. He was very highly motivated
to change. Mostly because the doctors told him that
he would be back in surgery if he did not change his lifestyle.
In 3 years he is back smoking well over
2 packs-a-day, still eats the fast-foods (and not the salads),
and of course never gets any exercise.
In effect, this man's life is threatened and he is
unwilling to help himself. He really does not believe that
he will end up in the hospital (or dead) again. He feels too good.
We may want to lose weight, make extra money, or stop
procrastinating. Whatever it is that we want to do. we
need to step up and actually do it. Getting ourselves
motivated to improve our lives can be elusive. To some
it seems to come naturally. Others never seem to get it.
Making change happen in our lives needs several elements.
1. We need identify what we can change.
2. We need to want to change it.
3. We must take the steps to begin changing.
Unless we have at least these three elements, we usually
take no action to do anything but live our same existence.

BURN, BURN, BURN - THOSE CALORIES!
It is a fact of nature that if you burn off more calories than you
put into yourself that you will eventually lose pounds. Even
though your body tends to resist at time, it also lets loose
of those pounds easily and other times.
The trick is to make sure that you move more and eat less.
Here are a couple of ideas:
1. Get away from the television. Most people spend way too
much time in front of the "TUBE" (most aren't tubes anymore)
just idling their time. How do we idle? Why, we idle with
a soda in one hand and potato chips in the other. So, do something
that makes you move around.
2. Instead of using the dishwasher every time, you might consider
actually washing dishes by hand once in a while. This makes you
stand, and move around. Just don't have the soda and chips
within reach.
3. If you have pets play with them more. Many people do not play
with their pets at all. This not only give them physical activity,
but makes the owner more active.
Find reasons to be active. There are probably a lot of them that
you can think of if you put your mind to it.

Do You Glow After Your MRI?
It seems that every time that I go into the dentist
they want to take more x-rays. I am definitely
concerned about my health, especially since
cancer runs rampant in my family. I have had so much
radiation shot through my body that I can turn off
all of the lights in my house at night and still read
a book.
That is a bit of an exaggeration, but I have always
wondered just how safe all this stuff is. Oh, I do not
let my dentist take pictures unless I know it is
an absolute necessity.
There has been a recent surge of interest in the amount
of radiation that patients are exposed to due to a large number
of patients who were exposed to 8 times what they were
supposed to have had (L.A. TImes). I have heard rumors that
we might not even need the normal recommended amounts.
I would really like to hear your thoughts on this. Please

Super Bowl Calories
Greetings.
I know a lot of people tend to find themselves just sitting around in
front of the television. Major events such as the Super Bowl, which
will be showing tomorrow (Sunday 7th), are going to find a lot of
people eating and drinking themselves into calorie heaven.
wouldn't it be nice if we could burn off a few extra calories
just by watching the tube? Here are a few suggestions.
One thing that you can do is to lean forward on your seat
and put some weight on your legs. This will tense your
muscles, strengthen the legs, and burn off a few calories.
You do not need to do this constantly, but every few minutes
will really make a difference.
Another thing you can do is to simply push down with your
arms on the seat of the chair. You will sort of be trying to
push some of your weight up off of the chair. This has the same
effect as the previous exercise with the legs.
So, you really can sit and get exercise at the same time.
For more information and help fill out the form to your
right and get the information that will help you to
keep on track.

Eat Energy!
There are a lot of foods that we eat that produce more
energy for us than others. Here are a few suggestions
that will keep you going at "TOP" speed.
Remember that saying about "An apple a day"?
Eating apples is not only going to provide you with
food that not only tastes good, but also keeps your
energy levels up by keeping your blood sugar from
having that quick drop from most sweets.
One more is spicy mustard. Not only will this help
you to enjoy your meal, but it can also increase your
metabolism by up to 20% for several hours after
you eat it.

Now, for another free tip.
I am always asked "What is the quickest way to lose weight?"
My answer is always "Don't eat!"
I always tell people that it may not be the BEST way, gut it is the fastest.
The best way is, of course, to reduce what you eat, move around more,
and eat more foods that are complex in nature (i.e. grains, nuts, legumes
veggies, etc.) Even these should be eaten in moderation. The complex
foods will also help you to feel more full for a longer period of time.
Oh, yes, find something to do other than sitting in front of the T.V.

Do you have trouble losing weight?
Maybe you have trouble just getting things done?
It is not enough to say that someone needs to have more self-control.
There are actually techniques involved in controlling what you do.
Mental control is sometimes elusive. We all have difficulty focusing
on the important things sometimes, but those of us who are more
effective at getting things accomplished are usually better at
mental focus than are the others of us.
Here are three (3) basic things that you can do to help yourself
focus and be more efficient.

The Weight Loss "FIT"
The fitness people are going crazy at this time of year. The New Year
brings all of those people out who have been thinking about, considering,
or toying with the idea of reducing their weight.
Before doing anything with any weight loss plan, consider your lifestyle.
Make sure that the way you go about losing weight is:
1. One that you can afford - Many plans carry a hefty price tag.
2. Not just some fad - Fad diets are seldom maintainable.
3. Healthy - Not all diet plans will give you the daily nutrition
that you need to stay healthy.
4. Workable - You plan must "Fit" you and your lifestyle. If you do
not have a lot of extra time, then you do not want to
be on a plan that takes a lot of meal preparation and
time in the kitchen.

Weight Loss Reviews
Now is the time when many of us vow to lose
those extra unwanted pounds. We all say we are
going to eat right, get exercise, and THIS TIME
we are going to stick with it - yeah, right!
Studies have shown that to maintain long-term
weight loss it is usually necessary to have some
intervention by a third party. A personal trainer,
diet and work outs with a friend, or some kind of
"coaching" type of encouragement.
Here are some reviews of some weight control programs
to check out - Click Here for reviews.
For your own personal coach, check out this link - Click Here for coaching
We all need help sometimes and there is no time like NOW to get started.
Be careful about using some diet or program that you have used before,
especially if it was one that you did not follow through on. You need to
find one that works for you. Get free information at the top right of this
page. Check it out, it's absolutely free for the taking.

Stress, Eating, and Children
Anyone who has battled with weight understands how stress and anxiety
can affect his or her eating habits. If you are watching your weight to
keep your weight under control, you are considered "Restrained".
The less you watch and are worried about your weight, the less restrained
you are. So, you can be highly restrained, or on the other hand have
low restraint.
According to recent studies of 9 year old children, there is some indication
that stress may influence their eating habits just as it seems to in adults.
The following is what they say: "Dietary restraint occurs in children and
may influence the effect of stress on eating. Interpersonal stress decreases
snacking in low dietary restrained youth but increases snacking in
high-dietary restrained children, perhaps because of stress-induced disinhibition."
(from "Obesity Research")
In other words, according to this study, kids that are very weight conscious
will eat more under stress than those that do not worry about their weight.
There are studies out there that do NOT directly link stress to overeating
and obesity, but they are quick to say that there needs to be more
study and their results are not definitive.
From my experience in counseling weight loss clients, I personally think that
most of the emotional eating is a learned behavior. We learn it from our
parents, friends, peers, and siblings. Mostly it is from parents.
What do you think? Post your comment and tell me what you think.

Have Sex, Lose Weight
As we all know sexual activity takes some effort (if done correctly)
and in expending energy, calories are burned off. So, how many calories
do we burn?
the average person will burn off approximately 1 calorie per minute
during a moderate session. Do this for an hour at a fairly vigorous
level and you not only burn off quite a few calories, but you can
also increase your aerobic capacity. Not to mention the fun part.
Well, what are you waiting for?
Bob
P.S. There is a giveaway event offering many self-improvement
products. This only comes around once a year (kind of like Santa).

Weight Loss? Are You Mental?
Welcome 2010! The new year is here and if you are like many people,
you are wanting to get rid of those extra pounds that you have accumulated
during the holidays. Well FORGET IT, YOU CAN'T! (JUST KIDDING).
Of course you can. Now is the time to begin. It is not just a matter of
getting exercise, or watching what you eat, you must make sure that you
are mentally ready. Have you ever made a resolution to lose weight before?
Do you know anyone who has said that they were going to lose weight,
but did not? How long was it before the effort stopped? That is what
I mean by being mentally ready. If you do not take the correct steps to
get in tune with what you need, want, and are willing to do, then you are
fighting an "uphill battle". Here are a few tips from my free ebook.
You can read some of it in parts here, or just download the entire thing
by clicking HERE.
One thing that I mention is to Pay Attention to Yourself. You need to keep
in mind what your lifestyle is like so that you can work with it. If you are
an early morning person, you may decide to begin an exercise program
early in the day. This would be difficult for the person who likes to stay
in bed until noon.
Another thing is that I talk about is taking things step-by-step. Do not think
about needing to lose 50 pounds, but lose that first 5 pounds.
Then do it again. Do it 10 times and you have lost that extra 50 pounds.
